The Star Scoop:

Tell us about Heroes, and your character.

Lisa Lackey:

I play Matt Parkman's wife. In season one, we saw our relationship suffer the trials and tribulations of a marriage that was a little on the rocks and it resulted in a divorce at the end of season one. In that time, my character had become pregnant and there was some confusion over whose baby it was because I had had an affair. In season three, it was confirmed that the baby was in fact my husband's, because my baby had powers. Season four will be their reunion and trying to make a go of it. Who knows what's going to happen? I certainly don't!

The Star Scoop:

Why do you think Heroes has been such a big hit?

Lisa Lackey:

I think that with anything, when something comes out of the gate and it's incredible successful, it's very hard a lot of the time to keep that going. It's the same with music. When someone you've never heard of comes out with a hit single and it's the top of the charts, that second album is going to be really tough to try and be better than that. I think that's what happened with Heroes, that season one was so phenomenal and so different, and nothing had been seen like that before. The concepts were really original. People wanted to get to know these characters. It was less about their powers and what they could do and it was more about how they dealt with those powers and finding out that they had them...I think as season three came to an end, and season four begins, there's going to be a return to season one, from what I can see and from what I know. That's what's going to be happening.

The Star Scoop:

Have you noticed a change or difference in your life since Heroes?

Lisa Lackey:

I think this industry in the last couple of years has really, really changed. I think they've had to endure a lot of changes as far as strikes and the economy failing. To me, I tend to be guilty of turning up for work and doing my job and staying out of trouble...coming home and pretending I'm not an actor. I watch a lot of my peers go out and do interviews and I never really did that. I've never really done that for so many years now. When I was in Australia, which is where I'm from, I did a show that was really, really, really popular in Australia and in Europe and in the U.K. It wasn't seen over here. So I had a taste of what that was like. I shied away from that when I came over here. It's only now that I'm realizing that as a result of being on the show for so long but nobody really knowing who I am, it sort of was about time that I did publicize myself and get out there, and get to know the fans a little bit...reach out to them and have them be excited about season four and the possibilities for my character and the baby.

The Star Scoop:

What information do you want to get out there to the fans?

Lisa Lackey:

I think just on Heroes, my character was quite misunderstood. I remember reading that someone was like, Oh, she's such a bitch, she had an affair with her husband...we don't want her to come back to the show. I don't take any of that stuff seriously because they don't know me at all, but I remember thinking to myself, I need to get out there and reach out to these people because when you watch a show and a lot of the information that you're getting is through other characters just mentioning it...there was never a scene where we broke up. There was one scene where I confessed to having an affair. We tried to make it work. You never saw anything about our breakup. It was just spoken about by someone else. I feel like no one got to hear my character's side of the story. You want to feel like the fans are happy that you've come back...that can only help the story line go along really, really smoothly. I've really enjoyed working on Heroes. To redeem myself in terms of what the fans didn't get to see...yes, there is a reunion... my character is not so bad after all. Sometimes when women go off and have affairs, they're not feeling like they have enough attention as opposed to just being a bitch, you know what I mean?

The Star Scoop:

What should people expect from season four of Heroes?

Lisa Lackey:

It's September 21st. We're now going to be on at 8:00, which is really interesting because it's a much more primetime time slot. It's more family hour. So I'm thinking that it's going to be a little bit more accessible. That's a cool thing. Like I said, I think there's a real push to kind of go back to season one, which is what people really, really loved. Sylar's still around and he's evil, or is he? We don't know. So that's going to be really interesting as well. He,[Sylar] in the first couple of episodes is very prominent.
