The Star Scoop:

You're going to be participating in I Love Money 2. Tell us about it.

Jason Rosell:

There was a season 1 last year. They took the biggest characters from all the "love" shows, and since none of us could find love on our original shows, they brought us to do I Love Money. The original one, I got caught up in a love triangle, and I left a little too early. So, I ended up getting get kicked off by The Entertainer, another character on the show. For this season, they only brought back me and him. People were just demanding to see more of me. So I got really lucky, being the only guy from the original I Love New York to do three shows in a row. We're all of us in a quest to [win] a quarter of a million dollars through mental and physical challenges.

The Star Scoop:

People who keep appearing, people might get sick of easily. What is it about you that you can keep coming back? Why do people like you so much?

Jason Rosell:

A lot of these characters, including myself, it's either you hate the character or you completely love them. With me, it's a toss up because I got kicked off originally from I Love New York for putting my family above her. That was a huge impact. Usually, reality stars aren't know to talk about their family much. That's made me stand out a lot, and also the fact that I was a party guy. Essentially the way things turned out was he's the major family guy that also he's really well known to be really funny by partying.

The Star Scoop:

What motivated you to get into Reality TV?

Jason Rosell:

I became part of the Screen Actors Guild about six months before doing the original reality show. I did it as a joke, going into an audition. I actually got it three days into it. I didn't think I was going to get it because they were auditioning 18,000 guys around the country, and they only pick 20 out of 18,000. So I get the call to do it, and I turned it down actually three times in a row. I figured, no one's going to take me seriously as an actor. Literally, less than 24 hours before they filmed, my mother actually pushed me to do it, and I was like, alright. At that time I had just broken off an engagement, and [was] taking a break from acting, just to try this out on a quest for love. Without me knowing it, it actually has helped my career tremendously. People created a liking towards me! I've done two Lionsgate films because of it. It's opened up my gates a lot more.

The Star Scoop:

Tell us a little bit about your acting roles coming up.

Jason Rosell:

I only have two other films coming out this year, late spring. The first one is called Tamales and Gumbo, which is the Latin-African America version of My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and I have a small supporting role in that, which I kind of play the role of Joey from Nsync, and I play this Cuban Colombian guy who is the cousin of Vida Guerra. Also In My Sleep, small supporting role. I play a cop. I love acting. It's one of my passions. In general, my ultimate thing is I love entertaining. I just like making people laugh.

The Star Scoop:

Your nickname is "Heat." Is that a good characterization of you?

Jason Rosell:

I would say "Heat" is about 75% of who I am, you know? I'm extremely outgoing. I speak my mind in all given situations. I'm very nice. I'm educated. I spent many years in college. But I also have a lot of street smarts, where I do know how to put people in their place, if needed to.

The Star Scoop:

Why should people watch I Love Money 2?

Jason Rosell:

Number one, I would say, the biggest reason for me is this time around, it's my in, because people that have gotten a taste of me, I've only stayed on shows for half seasons. I cannot expose right now how long I made it, but based on what occurred in the house, you do not want to miss any one second of these episodes or the show in general. You get to see 110% me in all ways, shapes and forms, from getting in verbal arguments, physical fights. It's just very intense. I can leave it like this. I made people cry, I made people laugh. The whole package all in one and in prior shows, I wasn't given a chance to do this. The way things came off this time, truly, unless they edited it a certain way, represent me. Last two shows, when I would come back home, I was like man, I don't know how I feel about this. I left Mexico with the biggest grin on my face. Nothing felt so good. If I had to compare either spending six years in college and leaving this show, I would say they are equal. The feeling that I had, to come out with a bunch of degrees from college after I had to quit high school due to family circumstances, literally, it was the best feeling in the world.

The Star Scoop:

Any final thoughts?

Jason Rosell:

From my understanding, I'm one of the very few Latin-European males on there. In general, in this industry, there's really no one like me. The fact that I'm 75% Spaniard, 25% Puerto Rican, born and raised in Queens, New York, first language is Spanish, bilingual and fluent, I bring something totally different to the table. To give you a clue, let's just say this show is, in one word, caliente. I'm not supposed to be telling you this, but everyone calls me Caliente, and it's hilarious.
