Ryan Ochoa

Ryan Ochoa will appear on the big screen in The Perfect Game and his next movie is one with Jim Carrey. We talked with the budding actor about his upcoming roles and his life away from the camera.

The Star Scoop:

Tell us about the projects you're working on right now.

Ryan Ochoa:

I want to tell people about Christmas Carol, with Jim Carrey, because that's gonna be a good movie. The Perfect Game comes out in August, August 15th, so those are pretty much it.

The Star Scoop:

What is The Perfect Game about and what is your role?

Ochoa:

The movie's about the 1957 Monterrey Industrials, who go on to win the Little League World Series. I play the catcher, Norberto, on the baseball team.

The Star Scoop:

Do you play a lot of sports in your free time? As a young boy it must be cool to do a sports movie!

Ochoa:

Oh yeah! It was awesome, because I play football and baseball, and baseball is one of my favorite sports. Being the catcher on the baseball team was a really fun experience because I've never actually played a catcher. I play normally outfielder or something. So, it was fun!

The Star Scoop:

Did it make you want to try being a catcher in real life, too?

Ochoa:

Well, probably with other people it wouldn't be that fun, but playing it onscreen was like way more fun than just normally.

The Star Scoop:

With you film Christmas Carol you got to work with Jim Carrey!

Ochoa:

We just wrapped it. He's a really nice guy. Very professional. I learned a lot from Jim Carrey. Being professional on set...like Jim Carrey's very professional, and doing that movie made me more professional and [showed me] how to act on set.

The Star Scoop:

Were you nervous for either of these films? Being a part of a movie is a big deal!

Ochoa:

I was really excited to go work with these actors. Jim Carrey was one of my favorite actors. At first I was kind of nervous because I was going to meet Jim Carrey, but once I started to talk to him and meet him, it was really fun. Everyday it was fun going on set and talking to him, because he's a really awesome guy. On The Perfect Game, I made friends with all of the actors, like all of the kids.

The Star Scoop:

Do you want to do more movies in the future or would you like to have a TV show?

Ochoa:

Well, working with Jake T. Austin from Wizards of Waverly Place and Moises Arias from Hannah Montana made me want to be on Wizards of Waverly Place and Hannah Montana...Being in my own movie would be even more awesome.

The Star Scoop:

What do you like to do besides acting?

Ochoa:

Maybe I want to try dirt bike maybe one day, BMX. A lot of kids do it, and I would want to try to dirt bike. Football...if it wasn't for my acting, I would play football.

The Star Scoop:

So are you missing out on anything because you're an actor?

Ochoa:

I think I'm missing out on a lot of sports, because I'm a sports type of kid, so not being able to do sports kind of makes me feel bad, but acting is way better. I love acting.
